Question says it all. I am trying to copy the account settings and data from my desktop version of tbird to a portable version that I keep on usb stick. Portable version works fine and I have tried copying profile in AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird from desktop version to portable version but it does not bring data over. I am looking at a clean install version rather than a populated version despite having taken those steps. Can anyone please give me a clear step by step. Thx.

A profile contains settings, mail, calendars, add-on data and add-ons as well as contacts. Thunderbird has no way to separate them. It is an all or nothing thing.

Look for the profiles.ini file in the portable setup, and open it in a text editor. Compare the name of the profile folder there with the name of the profile folder you copied into TB portable.

With all due respect, how is this helpful? I am not looking to separate anything. I would like the portable version to exactly mirror the version I have on my desktop
