I am not even sure how in the world to explain what info I need. Please be patient, because I don't want a bunch of answers that don't answer this very important question to me: when you type in your email, or user name, which ever is required to log into a website, how it is that the user name is remembered? Which part of the browser is recalling the user name and how do you stop it? I never ever allow browsers to remember/retain passwords. Now, I am having real concern about the part of the browser that recalls user name and whatever else. I went to log into a site, Amazon, and I usually don't even have to type the full email when my full email appears. It is a common thing for all of us. But I see a half dozen of my other emails and possible user names -- as though someone was trying to log in and used a name that I would never use. It was abusive, too. I have a strong feeling, too, that this mozilla site, some people in this site, do not honor people's privacy. I cannot see how in the world anyone could create something like that otherwise. You would have to have access to an individual's browser in their notebook, and use it to try to log into sites, there were a few of them, using various user names. How can one do that? Well some of those people who lurk around here pretending to help, but don't have enough to do and don't know what being professional means. Anyone here who would dare violate anyone's privacy can be charged with a crime. that is theft and worse. To use someone's browser to try to log into sites like Amazon. To be guessing at user names, and making some up. I never use anything but what I actually use, so to see my emails and usernames, PLUS made up names that someone thinks they might use, or someone here thinks oh this woujld be funny, is the worst kind of business that will get mozilla right off the map here. Please how do I get in touch with the creators of this? I can take a screen shot. I have done that before. No browser recalls any thing unless it is has been used and is stored. That is how the user name is recalled, but how could that happen if I never used that specific name? Who could have done that? Please if I need to explain better, ask. This is very important. Very important.

Form autofill.

☰Menu → Options → Privacy & Security (on left-hand column) → scroll down to Forms and Autofill.

If you have all these many things showing up in your browser, you might involve the police, as no one in the support website, nor the Mozilla developers, can access your browser. So, someone knows how to log on to your computer and use it while you are not there.

Well the robot is wrong. If someone has the password to a browser, it can be accessed. The email I got said this message came from a bot. It sure sounds like it. Please someone must know how browsers remembers when we use user names and passwords -- these can be remembered by the browser if the user sets the settings to do so. What of the user name? When you go to a site, you click "user name" and the one you use, namely your email, goes in. It is common place. But when you see user names other than what you use .......

there is a rational explanation for this.
No more bots.

For all the information the browser remembers, the settings and ability to edit and delete that information is found in the Options.

Passwords and usernames are under the Passwords settings, and other remembered text box entries information is located under Forms & Autofill.

The actual files which contain such information are located in your user profile directory. You can delete them if you like, and empty files will take their place the next time you start Firefox. If you want information on that, i or someone else would be glad to provide it.

Session cookies may remember certain things for a time. These are set by websites. You can choose to delete these in the Cookies section or in the Clear Recent History tool.

You can even wipe everything from Firefox if you like. That means everything; bookmarks, logins, history, preferences, everything. A backup will be deposited on your desktop, but you can delete it if it suits you. It's called Refresh Firefox:

☰Menu → Options → Help → Troubleshooting Information → Refresh Firefox button

But when you see user names other than what you use .......

Someone has access to your system, or you have someone else's Sync account.

there is a rational explanation for this.

You have been given rational explanations in this thread, and at least one before.

No more bots.

Are you calling me a bot? How sweet! :)

The email I got said this message came from a bot.

Oh that bot. Yes, the one that informs you that there has been a reply to your question. That's the same robot who tells me there was another post to a thread in which i have posted. Did you think an actual person knows your email address and writes to you? No, that is secured information, belonging to your account at Mozilla Support.

This email is automatically sent by a robot. Our robot can’t respond to your question, but our forum contributors can! If you want to respond to them, please click here.

You can Unsubscribe from these emails so you don't have receive notifications from a bot. You can just check the thread manually if that suits you better.

I know this. I wouldn't be asking for help if I wasn't aware of this. I don't allow any browser to store passwords. I have allowed firefox to store things like my address and email, which is most of the time used for the user name.

I also know how to delete the cache, but if you delete the cookies you are logged out of all.

Also it is helpful to accept some cookies and I am acquainted with how to denote sites that I consider safe. YOU think too well of yourself and you like to go out of your way insulting people.

Why are you responding? You have nothing but insults. If nobody has any ideas just leave it. You haven't provided any rational explanation and this is obviously over your head.
I specifically asked if no one in the community can answer, please just say so. Better yet, say nothing. I was referring to you, specifically. You can't resist your arrogant remarks that don't help. Yes there is a reason why there are "usernames" put in but at least I am trying to figure out why.
you responding with the most unhelpful and insulting remarks does nothing to help your cause. You didn't even know that browsers can be hacked. Why do you think they have passwords? Your answer was not just inaccurate but aimed at insulting.

You are not even making a pretence of trying to help. This is over your head, don't answer. If you don't care, don't answer just so you can insult people.

@ GINAHERE :

You accuse "crankygoat" of insulting you, when all he does is try to help you (in his spare time); a little appreciation wouldn't go amiss. Your attitude towards him is uncalled for.

BTW : you never replied to the posts from ChrisIlias and FredMcD in this thread :

Do you ever hear yourselves, see what you read. Obviously, this is all you do, and make assumptions about what people ask rather than ask to clarify. Always the same ones. The name cranky goat fits.

Boy are you both lost and way over your head. All this had to do with the browser I downloaded to my phone, the firefox browser. What an eye opener, lacking in security it is.

you two think way too well of yourselves. I fyou bothered to think instead of acting like little arrogant boys you may have figured it out.

on the other hand, i doubt it.

You criticize the support volunteers for being "lost" and you can't even post your rude ramblings in the correct part of this forum. Support requests for mobile phones belong in the Firefox for Android or Firefox for iOS areas of this forum.

In addition to "the-edmeister's" post :

You only just now (in your last post) mention that this is about Firefox on your phone ....

You accuse both crankygoat and me of insulting you, which neither of us did - you, on the other hand, are constantly insulting us.

A little kindness goes a long way - you should try it sometime.

NO IT IS NOT ABOUT FIREFOX ON MY PHONE. IT IS ABOUT FIREFOX IN MY NOTEBOOK COMPUTER.

BUT DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, BECAUSE CLEARLY NO ONE IS HELPFUL OR KNOWLEDGEABLE HERE, I FOUND THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TWO.
THIS IS WHY I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER ANDROID PHONE
AND WHY THOSE LIKE YOU WHO DON'T READ WHAT YOU WRITE, HAVE YOUR CLICK, DON'T HAVE ANY HELPFUL ANSWER BUT SO DESPERATELY NEED TO WRITE SOMETHIGN, ANYTHING AND ARE INSULTING, ARROGANT AND YOU FOLKS START THAT WAY. YOU ARE JUST SO USED TO HEARING YOURSELVES IT BECOMES THE NORMAL.

NO IT IS ABOUT THE BROWSER IN MY NOTEBOOK. YOU DIDN'T READ A DAMN THING, YOU DROWN IN YOUR DESPERATION TO MAKE REMARKS NO MATTER WHAT YOU KNOW OR DON'T KNOW. THIS FORUMS NEEDS NEW PEOPLE WHO HAVE NTO WORKED A GROOVE FOR THEMSELVES, WHO HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE AND WHO DON'T THINK SOOOOOOOOOO WELL OF THEMSELVES. OR ARE INSECURE BECAUSE THAT USUALLY IS THE THING.

YOU ARE OVER YOUR HEAD AS TO WHAT CAUSES THIS, PHONES GET HACKED FAIRLY EASILY, ESPECIALLY ANDROID PHONES, AND NOW PHONES USE VERSIONS OF BROWSERS NOT JUST FIREFOX AND THERE ARE CONNECTIONS AND I'LL BET YOU DON'T KNOW A THIGN ABOUT IT.
