Uninstalled then reinstalled TB. Cannot log into ISP.
Running Windows 10. About a week ago, TB stopped logging into ISP (Verizon Yahoo). Got TB messages to the effect that my login parameters were wrong. I verified Server Settings and Password with ISP. Tried many suggestions found online. In desperation I uninstalled and reinstalled TB (wish I hadn't). Used uninstall wizard but found filename "Thunderbird" scattered in multiple folders, some protected files I could not delete. Deleted those I could. Tried to get a clean Reinstall. Reinstalled and verified Server Settings again. I try to download email by click on "Get Messages." Receive message in lower left hand corner: "NAME.verizon.net: Host contacted, sending login information..." It times out, then I receive the following errors: "Error with account NAME.verizon.net" and "Sending of password for user NAME did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded: Server error - Please try again later." The password recorded in "Saved Passwords/Saved Logins" is correct. I tried playing with parameters like Authentication Method, POP/IMAP, etc. No joy.

- Are you talking about one or two email accounts? Verizon and Yahoo? Or are they the same account (not familiar with these email providers)
- Can you log into the web mail services of your email provider using a web browsers?
- Is it possible that your email provider enabled a restriction? For example for Gmail, one has to allow "less secure applications" for thunderbird to be able to connect.
