Hello. Is there a way to make "Sort by threaded" and "Expand all threads" in Thunderbird for Mac. Whatever sorts are selected, those are no longer effective when restarting Thunderbird. Often, the selected sorts change during a session. This was not the case in earlier versions of Thunderbird. Thank you for your help. Steve

Sorry. Mean to write make "Sort by threaded" and "Expand all threads" defaults.

have you actually installed Thunderbird on the mac? not saving settings is a sign the install has not run and you are executing the DMG file in the temp folder.

Hello Matt. I has been installed for years, on a succession of macs, including this one for 2 years. Every update has been installed. The default sorts and threadings stopped working several updates ago. Thanks. /s

The defaults should be retained between restarts, but if not, it's often the case there's an external 'system cleaner' app that resets preferences for the apps it's allowed to work on.

If you have been reusing a profile for many years, you might find it worthwhile to test TB performance with a new profile, created from Help/More Troubleshooting, about:profiles. Add an account and see if the settings are maintained (assuming the absence of a cleaner app). If it performs correctly, data from the old profile can be transferred to the new one. Either profile can be launched from about:profiles.
