Too many updates
What's up with all the daily updates? Most times it's about every other day. Sometimes it's daily for a day or two. It takes me to a download and install firefox browser site. I have only done it the first time I got the update notice. I now check under the help tab. It tells me I'm up to date, without the new update. Is anyone else having the same problem?

Shouldn't be daily:

Firefox 97.0.2 is an emergency security update due to exploits being available in the wild already. I assume that is why they did not wait to roll them into Firefox 98.0 next week.
Firefox generally is able to auto-update itself without your having to download anything. I would be suspicious of any requirement to download a file, which could indicate anything from a configuration problem to a malware problem.
What is your update channel ?
You can check that on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page or via "Help -> About Firefox". If you are on release then you shouldn't get that many update, but if you are on the beta or aurora or nightly update channel then you will get more updates.
If you are not on release then download and install the current release.
I don't know if its on the current release or not. I'm on a laptop. This happened before and was fixed for a while. Now it has started again with the daily or everytime I open Firefox 'update' needed. I have Windows 11- but not using their sync or cloud options.
There was a notification about Firefox 98.0.2 today but I snoozed it. You can always verify whether there has been a new release by visiting the following page:
