Hello,

I am running FF v103.0.1 on a Windows 10 laptop (with latest OS update installed). I am using Windscribe VPN. I have never had an issue logging into Gmail until the latest FF update.

When I try to login to Gmail I keep getting Your browser is not secure when I try to login to Gmail using FF v103.0.1. I followed the advice given to another user with the same issue. I put FF into troubleshoot mode. Login issue was resolved. I know I can't run FF in this manner all the time.

Can anyone please tell me how to fix the Gmail login issue I'm experiencing? Please let me know. Thank you.

Could you copy/paste the error message? In particular, any SEC_ERROR_CODE in all caps. If you have the secure connection error page with the Advanced button, please click that button to get the more detailed information that would help in understanding what is going on.

More generally, Troubleshoot Mode disables extensions (one category of add-ons), so it would be worth reviewing those to make sure you want all of them running. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

If there is at least one extension before the next heading -- "Recommended Extensions" -- please continue:

Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove). For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.

Note: Extensions are automatically disabled in Troubleshoot Mode, but you should still be able to set their status for when you restart normally.

Any improvement?

Jscher2000. Thank you for replying so quickly. I found out what was causing the issue. In FF Settings under Performance, Hardware settings were to using "recommended" hardware acceleration. I unchecked both boxes. I also installed the latest driver updates for my graphics card as well.

These 2 things remedied my issue. I can now login to Gmail without issue now. :)

Thank you again for all your help.

Sorry to hear Firefox isn't working smoothly with your graphics hardware. When you get some free time, check out this article: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.
