Emails with different subjects are getting threaded together. For example, in the attached snapshot, why are the emails with subject "Bid S011090833" getting threaded under "Hein Revised Hall Bath..."?

Perhaps I don't understand how Thunderbird determines messages have a common thread.

Should this be threaded under a top level email with subject "Bid S011090833" or should it be it's own top level thread ?

This can occur if you had replied to an email with a different subject and then you changed the Subject or if the person sending to you had changed the subject in their reply.

Have you tried this:

  • change folder to 'unthreaded' so all is a list.
  • Then right click on folder and select 'Properties'
  • click on 'Repair Folder'
  • click on 'OK'
  • Then reselect 'Threaded'

This can occur if you had replied to an email with a different subject and then you changed the Subject or if the person sending to you had changed the subject in their reply.
