Share local folder on LAN
Hi
I often download locally the emails from my different providers and store it in "Local Folders". I would like to access the folders I created in "Local Folders" (better if only a subset of them) on another machine where I also have Thunderbird. To explain it more clearly: I store in a machine my emails and I would like to access them from another one connected at the same local network.
Therefore, I have two questions:
- What are the drawbacks of having the same "Local Directory" (in Account Settings -> Local Folders) for two different machine (possibly running Thunderbird at the same time)? - Is it possible to have different "Local Folders" in Thunderbird? (so, I can only share a subset of the folders I downloaded locally)
Thanks

I think this add-on will provide the best options:
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/localfolder/
Thank you for your suggestion.
This add-on seems a bit weird:
- versions on Thunderbird Add-ons do not correspond to releases in the GitHub repository (and changelog has not been updated since v2)
- nobody replied to PRs in a while
- documentation is completely missing
Do you suggest to install this add-on anyway?
However, from your reply I understand that the answer to my second question is: "no (without add-ons)". What about the first one? Is it really dangerous to open the same folder in multiple instances of Thunderbird?
Thanks
The v. 4 add-on works in TB 115. Access the options from Account Settings, Account Actions.
I think it should work fine as long as a folder is accessed by a single user at a time, even if on different computers.
Thank you for your feedback!
