Possible Security Problem
When deselecting 'Remember Passwords for Sites' I would expect Ff to permanently forget all passwords. When reselected I would expect Ff to start remembering passwords again.
However, when reselecting 'Remember Passwords for Sites' all historically gathered passwords are reinstated. Is this a bug? When I leave my computer for a few days I always deselect the option so that no one can start Ff and gain access to my sites. Obviously, this is pointless as they just have to reselect the option.
This happened
Not sure how often

Use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox if you want to remove all passwords or remove them in the Password Manager. If you do not want others to access or use your saved passwords then use a Master Password.
If you uncheck to remember passwords then that only applies for remembering new passwords and filling passwords by the password manager. It won't remove already saved names and passwords. The same is true for saved form data.
I've tested 'Clear Recent History' but it makes no difference. My test was:
1. Open Ff 2. Clear Recent History [I cleared everything] 3. Deselect 'Remember Passwords for Sites' 4. Clear Recent History again [Just to be sure!] 5. Close Ff 6. Open Ff 7. Reselect 'Remember Passwords for Sites'
All username / password (Gmail, private forums etc) fields are populated with the correct info.
You can't remove passwords with Tools > Clear Recent History You can only do that via Tools > Options > Privacy : Private Data > Settings: "Saved Passwords" and close and restart Firefox.
