I deleted all plugins. Deleted Firefox. Reinstalled Firefox. Deleted Firefox again and deleted any plugins/extensions. As soon as I install the latest version of Flash and go to somewhere like youtube.com, Firefox disappears off the screen.

If I disable Flash I can go to youtube but of course can't see the videos.

This can be a problem with Out-Of-Process-Plugins.
Make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that page :) I tried allowing everything. I even tried switching off my antivirus and firewall with no luck.

What did work was switching dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to false as was suggested by that page.
