why won't it take me to the address i type instead of asearch page ?
I am using firefox with igoogle as my homepage when i type in an address in my address bar it sends me to google search page instead of the page I requested.

Please read this post:
What you need to do to override the default behaviour which is to launch Google after you type in the name of a site and hit Enter, is the following.
- If the site is a .com, hit CTRL+Enter
- If it's a .net, hit SHIFT+Enter
- If it's a .org, hit CTRL+SHIFT+Enter
If you just hit the Enter key on it's own, Firefox reverts to the default setting which is configured in keyword.URL
