In the location bar, type: about:config and hit Enter.

In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following: browser.chrome.toolbar_tips

Double click it to toggle it from "True" to "False"

Do you mean the Bookmarks Toolbar or another toolbar?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).

I've sent a screen shot to "notifications@support.mozilla.com, and here it is below. I want to eliminate the boxes like the one with the orange "X" that appear automatically when I open the browser.

thanks Bud

You can hide the box that shows the snippets with code in userChrome.css

Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.

You can use the ChromEdit Plus extension to have easier access to the customization files.

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

/* hide snippet container on the about:home page */
#snippetContainer { display: none !important; }

This is all beyond my paygrade. Maybe one of the grandkids is at home with writing code...
