Why is it so hard to find system requirements or release notes for Firefox versions?

Why aren't Firefox system requirements and release information made readily available via links on the main Firefox pages? I can find them easily enough via Google, but I wonder why they cannot be found from within mozilla.com. Even a search in "Firefox Help" with the string "firefox 6 requirements" doesn't find the information. Is it an oversight, the community is too busy, or is it assumed that such information is not relevant in this day and age?

On some Mozilla Firefox pages there are links to Release Notes, but not on all pages. That is something that needs to be addressed. Generally, there is a link to System Requirements on the Release Notes page(s). I know, you ask "Why?". I can not explain and do not know of a good reason for not having a link on every Mozilla Firefox download page.

Below is a link to Firefox 6.0.2 Release Notes and a link to Firefox 6.0.2 System Requirements. You can change the version number in the link to another released version and get the information for that version. I know, it's a pain, but I just bookmark them in folders "FF Release Notes" and "FF Sys Req".

My searches using Google with "site:mozilla.org" has proven useful, and has shown me that Firefox support contains LOTS of complaints similar to mine.

So, there must be a Real Good Reason why release notes and system requirements are not readily available from Firefox new version download pages. I will therefore not expect any replies to my complaint/query.

I have, however, seen many succinct and patient replies to queries from other users. I also find that the support documents, those that I can find, are surprisingly well written. Kudos to the community for that!

I will just have to remember that searching in Firefox support doesn't work as well as Google.

SafeBrowser,

Thanks for your reply. I had found the same webpages that you mention via Google.

More importantly, because my searches on Firefox Support didn't find the release notes but a lot of other posts about FF 6, I learned much more about FF 6.

I've decided to upgrade to 3.6.22, and stay away from 6.0.x.
