I hate Yahoo. As far as I know, the only way that I can get rid of it is to uninstall Firefox and reinstall an earlier version. I regard Yahoo as a virus. I don't want it!

Hi IanBruce,

If you have a Yahoo! Toolbar, you can uninstall it by going to Tools > Addons. You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page if your home page has been changed to Yahoo!

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If your search bar is showing Yahoo! as well, the Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox Knowledge Base article will show you how to change it to something else and how to remove Yahoo! search from the bar completely.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article Preferences not saved.

Hopefully this helps!
