In the usefull tools , a free registry scanner is offered. Who is the author of this scanner and is it trustworthy? I have tried free scanners before and wound up vith a virus in my desktop. Can modzilla verify that this scanner is safe?

Mozilla does not offer a registry scanner, nor should you use one. Registry scanners tend to cause more problems then they supposedly fix, so you shouldnt be using them.
