I can not save my email address and password. I have reset Firefox and it still does not work.
I have four email address. I had to delete two according to my ISP and was told to reenter the email address with a new password. Now, I can not save the email address and the password. I have restored the default setting in Firefox. As I enter the email address and password, I check the box to remember. It will remember the email address as long as the box to remember is checked, but it does not show password. As soon as I unchecked the remember password box, it losses everything pertaining to that email address. I have checked Options, Security and it is set to remember passwords. There are no entries in the exception file. The box to "Remember Password" does not appear and any time. I have read several article on getting it to work, but nothing I do seems to help. Using a Toshiba Satellite A 665 with Windows 7.

Some sites use a variety of techniques to block saving passwords.
For example, one of those is Yahoo mail, and you could try some of the "tricks" described in past threads:

Since sometimes the solutions is site-specific, if you are having a problem with a different login form and the above doesn't help, do you want to post the URL to that page?
Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically.
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you anymore and you need to sign in once again.
- Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep such cookies, especially for secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

I finally read about Right-click the username field and choose Inspect Element (Q).
When I clicked on the username, I never found the autocomplete=(off) but I did find it under the password.
When I changed it to "on", the password manager came up and allowed me to save the name and password.
Thanks for your help.
How can I recover a password, for example I want to retrieve the password you have on myenel and do not know how to do?
Hi maratheo2011, is the problem that you want to read a password saved in Firefox, or do you not have the password saved anywhere?
To read a password saved in Firefox, go to the Options/Preferences dialog, Security tab, Saved Passwords button.
- Windows: orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: Firefox menu > Preferences
- Linux: Edit menu > Preferences
If the password isn't saved in Firefox, you should check the help pages for the site where you need to recover your password.
