clicking on "close tabs to the right" closes tabs TO THE LEFT. thanks.
this is much worse than it originally presented itself.
when i click delete tabs on right it deletes the tabs on the left. right now i have opened nine tabs and tried the clearing - what i get is a message asking if i reallly want to close seven
additionally, the tabs on the right AND the left do not behave when one tries to close them manually.
i am stuck with tabs that have no "x" but which i can move around as if they were other, legitimate tabs. when i click on the FB tab it openes the PETA tab. and meanwhile FF is chewing up 623K

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...
Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
philipp which addon would it be? this behaviour started immediately after i upgraded to firefox 24.
hello, i don't know which addon it could be - i've seen this issue the first time here. can you confirm that firefox is working as expected in safe mode? in this case i'd probably first disable addons which contain any tab-related functionality, until the cause of the issue can be found (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step)...
let me try the safe mode bit and i can let you know what happened. these are the add-ons i have:
AdBlock Advanced System Care Better Privacy Block Site Click & CLean Collusion Cookies MAnager Do Not Track Me Duck Duck Go Go FB Purity Febe Flashblock Mask Me Remove Google Tracking Saved Password Timeline Remove Social Fixer TinEye Reverse Search YesScript Youtube Unblocker Privacy Choice TrackerBlock
there is also another problem that recently came up - tho i have java enabled some sites say i don't and i can't get in until i enable java (in other words i don't get in there)
thanks

I don't think Firefox usually gets confused about its left and right and tab labels in that way... hopefully it's a temporary glitch. If you need to save all the tabs and start a new session, try right-clicking one and using Bookmark All Tabs. (That is a window-by-window feature, so if you need to preserve tabs in multiple windows, you'll need to do it for each one.)
For readability, I've preformatted your extension list:
AdBlock Advanced System Care Better Privacy Block Site Click & CLean Collusion Cookies MAnager Do Not Track Me Duck Duck Go Go FB Purity Febe Flashblock Mask Me Remove Google Tracking Saved Password Timeline Remove Social Fixer TinEye Reverse Search YesScript Youtube Unblocker Privacy Choice TrackerBlock
If you have added any sites in YesScript, that could be related to the blocking of JavaScript. (It's less likely the problem is with the Java plugin, but in that case, there may be a Lego-like icon on the address bar to enable Java on the page.)
To avoid confusion:
You may also have an extension that causes the warning that JavaScript is not enabled.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
