I want to restore the status and add-ons toolbars to beta 29
With beta 29 nothing looks right and the add-ons and status (may be the same) bars are gone. There are add-ons that I simply can't use or it is too much trouble to use now. There has to be a way to fix this awful mess. I can't understand why Firefox wants to look and act like Chrome anyway. I don't use Chrome for a reason. I hate the hamburger icon and the new lack of customizable things. I am hopeful that someone can tell me how to restore the add-ons bar, I guess what I called the status bar is actually the add-ons bar.
I may have to go back to 28 and just stay there is there if no way to do this and firefox wants to be like chrome (slow, ugly, not very customizable)!!

Welcome to the new Australis ui.
You may want to use this extension to help get things back to before. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ and support for this extension can be found at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2773133

Thanks I used it and it has helped a little. It is still not bringing back things like my xmarks status and stuff like that, but it is better than nothing. I appreciate the help and if anyone else has more ideas I would appreciate them as well.
Status-4-Evar - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/ - has been updated for the Australis UI. That will restore the Add-on / Status Bar.
That is almost everything and that should be enough I guess to keep me on this for a while, I hope that firefox themselves change this to restore everything, but in the mean time, I am good!
I just installed FF 29. The only thing I don't like about the new interface is that the status bar is gone and I'm not seeing a way to bring it back.
I've had Status-4-Evar installed for quite a while and the add-on is still there, but it seems to have no effect. I just checked and the newest version is dated 10/31/2013.
Also, I'd prefer not to return to the classic theme just because of this. Simply bringing back the SB would be the best solution. Any ideas?

HOLD Everything! Reading and following the above posts, I'm seeing there something here that requires mayor clarification - the add-on bar and the status bar aren't the same thing! When I first came on here all I was looking for was that thin bar at the bottom where you put stuff, call it whatever you want! If this is what you're looking for, all you need to do is download the latest version of status-4-evar to get that thin bar back, there is no need to get the classic theme restorer or play around with the "status bar's" evil twin. Kindly update the status-4-evar link as noted above, when I looked for it the normal way only the non-working old version turned up.
I'm not too clear why the update program accepted the old status-4-evar as a working addon - it does not work with FF29 and needs updating. It's precisely for this reason the thin bar at the bottom didn't show, and NOT because the developers removed it.

I just download the classic toolbar, but I'm not sure I want it. What I want is for my status bar to be shown permanently at the bottom of the screen along with my Quick Java buttons, and for my tabs to be below my bookmarks.
Could someone explain specifically how to do just that any nothing else? I downloaded the "new" Status-Bar-4evar, but didn't see how I can get the status bar at the bottom of the page. It only gives you an option to put it in the location bar, tool bar or as a pop-up.
Okay, I was able to get the status and progress bars back at the bottom of the browers like I like it. However, my tabs are still stuck between the Menu Bar on top, and the Location and Bookmark Bars on the bottom. I want my tabs back at the bottom, but can't figure out how to get them down there.
Not sure what OS you have but go to the Tools->Add-ons or in Firefox menu or type about:addons in Location (address) bar or Ctrl+Shift+A
Go to Extensions on left of panel and select Classic Theme Restorer ->Preferences. In Tabs section you can select "Tabs not on top" for the tab bar be at bottom.
You can also change the look and colours of the tabs and text and change other things in the CTR preferences.

As I said in my second post, I am no longer interested in the Classic Restorer. Status-Bar-4Evar is now working pretty well. How can I simply flip the tabs to the bottom without using the Classic Restorer?
- Tabs On Bottom: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tabs-on-bottom/
You can easily move the Tab bar to the lower position with code in userChrome.css as basically you only need to give the Tab bar a higher -moz-box-ordinal-group value (most toolbars have a default -moz-box-ordinal-group:1 to show them in DOM order).
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #TabsToolbar{-moz-box-ordinal-group:10000!important}
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
As someone not well versed in this stuff, that's a bit confusing. Is this chrome folder in my profile the folder within the "storage" and then "persistent" or do I need to create it somewhere else? I have no idea what you're talking about.
You need to create the chrome folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist.
Use a plain text editor like Notepad to create the userChrome.css or userContent.css file in this folder.
You can paste the code in the userChrome.css or userContent.css file and make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line.
- @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
Make sure that you select "All files" and not "Text files" when you save the file via "Save file as" in the text editor as userChrome.css.
Otherwise Windows may add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with a not working userChrome.css.txt or userContent.css.txt file.
