Firefox crashes at startup (even in safe mode). I've uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of 40.0.2; and deleted and created a new profile. IE and Chrome both work fine.

The crash ID's that I've submitted are bp-1d1c5a1d-bacb-4ede-adce-d88542150824 and bp-89c9e6a5-2db9-4e6d-a426-aad5f2150824

1010493 RESOLVED WONTFIX Startup crash in dgapi.dll (Digital Guardian)

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Download the current Digital Guardian full installer. Then remove the program from your system.

Reboot. Then run a registry scan / repair. Do not re-install Digital Guardian at this time. Start Firefox. Are there any problems?

Run those scans and please post back to the thread to see how it went. The signature is a dll by Digital Guardian is a security software as far as I know from the bug the crash report is related to. It is only supported by ESR versions of Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox.../faq/

more options

My company uses Digital Guardian as part of their suite of security programs, so this is not a Trojan. I do not have rights to remove this app (and it will be automatically reinstalled if it could be removed).

more options

Tell your tech to tell Digital Guardian to leave the browsers alone.
