Why am I not able to add my hotmail/outlook accounts to Thunderbird? E-mail adress and password are correct, so why is it unable to configure?
I'm dead tired of outlook being unreasonable, so I decided to finally try out Thunderbird. Only problem is: I'm unable to configure with my existing hotmail/outlook accounts through Thunderbird. I recently "upgraded" from win 8.1 to win 10, and outlook has been unreasonable ever since (along with other functions). Today I finally had enough and installed Thunderbird. The installation went quick and smooth, but the triumphant feeling didn't last long as Thunderbird claims it is unable to configure with my existing e-mail accounts. Thunderbird suggests there might be something wrong with either the e-mail address or the password, but I know this is not the case. I've tried to find help through FAQ and the like, but nothing suggests a solution to my problem. I've activated the POP-alternative for my accounts, but it made no difference. Can someone help me? Can Someone Please Save Me From Outlook?

There's an informative article here, I don't know if you've seen it? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Hotmail Note in particular the very specific settings and the Hotmail 'peculiarity' in the way it processes passwords. If your setup matches exactly what the article advises then please post back here and people will try to help further. Please include the full text of any error messages you get.
