Don't have a full Norton install, so Live Update isn't an option. V25 and V26b don't support Norton Toolbar.Ditched Firefox for IE since Firefox ditched Norton.

I don't have a full Norton install, just Identity Safe. Norton failed miserably a few days ago and I switched to Malwarebytes whcich has proved to be far superior. I am using Firefox 24.1.0esr because it still supports Norton Toolbar. I refuse to use a browser that has abandoned a perfectly good tool with no explanation. Since I don't have a full Norton install, I can't run Identity Safe, and in your solution you didn't warn users that Live Update costs money to run. I have ditched Firefox in favor of IE 10; they at least still support the Norton Toolbar. I don't like Chrome or I would have switched to that, and I find it embarrassing to say the least that I might have to switch to Safari or something less popular.

hello, the compatibility of an addon is the sole responsibility of the developer of the addon, so that's norton in this case - firefox doesn't "abandon" any addon.

according to norton, the snadalone toolbar is compatible with firefox 25: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/Firefox-25-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/1041991

if you cannot obtain the necessary update through liveupdate, please contact symantec's support - since the addon is not listed on addons.mozilla.org the third-party developer has to offer its own channel to provide updates...
