I had a problem and lost a bunch of emails. It was necessary to delete old account and add it back again to fix issues. However, now I cannot "preview" anything. Neither local folders emails nor pop inbox etc. emails will display. They open fine when I double click on them.

good to hear you have resolved this issue.

However, just to clarify your mention about 'preview'.

If you are referring to the 'Message Pane' - the section below the list of emails. When you single left click on an email in the list, it will open and display the email in the Message Pane. This is not a preview, it is an opened email.

If you double click on email in list, it will open using the option you selected, so it will use a tab or a window.

There is no difference in seeing emails in the Message Pane, or in a new tab or in a new window. How you choose to view that email is your choice, but in all cases, it is exactly the same - they are opened emails.
