Trying to use Chat (in thunderbird 102.4.2) to connection to irc.libera.chat getting and not able to connect -- SASL authentication to a NickServ

I am not able to connect to IRC channels because it seems like my account doesn't log in.. I recently made the account a couple of days ago through Thunderbird

I was able to notice that I was getting this error message. This is a similar message to when I try to use the web client .. I looked for how to set it up but the best that I found was instructions for chatzilla.. I was hoping to get some help.. I think that reason that they I need SASL is because IRC server doesn't like my IP address.. (I am using Mozilla VPN)

Below are some messages that I was able to capture I am getting these error message when trying to connect to IRC 02:45:27 AM - *** Checking Ident 02:45:27 AM - *** Looking up your hostname... 02:45:27 AM - *** Couldn't look up your hostname 02:45:32 AM - *** No Ident response 02:45:35 AM - *** Notice -- SASL authentication to a NickServ account with a verified email address is required to connect from your current network. Please see https://libera.chat/guides/sasl for configuration assistance. 02:45:35 AM - Your account is disconnected.

Okay going to try to solve your problem with wanting to chat. Your irc.libera chat program won't find a connection.

Try to boot in safe mode is there some difference with the software now? Is there also firewall software in your PC?

Your Tls is something other than the sasl , Tls is for connecting.

Hello there



about the hostname error. The message that you’ve get on your screen is that it is.. Unable to find your hostname is because your hostname failed to translate into an ip address. This is due to changing your hostname on your system. Also check the hostname of the ftp server. And all other configurations for a good connection.

For the Sasl configuration you can go to the.. Account configuration in Thunderbird.
