Hi! Is this a question for Google or for you?

I'm getting very annoyed when "something" is identifying my IP-address as a (local) Thai one and all of a sudden I get wherever possible lots of things in the Thai language which I don't speak or read.

I just (re)installed FireFox, so the problem started again (of course).

It will be of an enormous help when you can answer me! Here an example of the Thai writing: o เว็บ o เว็บภาษาไทย o เว็บจากประเทศไทย o หน้าภาษาต่างประเทศที่ผ่านการแปล เพิ่มเครื่องมือ so you can see how I feel.......

Are you using a proxy?

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection

See "Firefox connection settings":

How is your location reported?

Hi!

No proxy and I changed the setting accordingly. My location is reported Bangkok, so certain sites change over from my used language into Thai.

Unfortunately it was O.K. before until I decided to load the newest Beta-version of Firefox.

I tried again now after a restart without any result.

Thanks for your answer!

Try to clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

There is usually a link on local web pages to go to the International (English) page.
For Google there is a link to go to Google.com (http://www.google.com/webhp)

Same same.

I try to avoid this problem with installing programs and other things to indicate living in Singapore when asked for the country I'm living.

I'm, in fact, now sure that it's Firefox. I have to find out now how to change Firefox's rederecting, I see that Firefox is linking my "Google"-page to Google.th indeed and deleting the cookie "Google.th" didn't solve the problem. I have to block Google.th somehow.

I blocked the cookies of Google.co.th but without result

I blocked more (local) cookies from my Thai Internet-provider without result. It's for sure Firefox as with IE I don't have the problem!!!

It's a pity that even the Mozilla-organization doesn't seem to have an adequate answer! Very disappointing!

Just un-installed Beta and installed 6: same problem. It seems that I am forced to use IE from now on........
