After update, why can't I download Verizon email to Thunderbird.

Thunderbird indicates that it can't authenticate my Verizon.net email. I read one other post that the Encryption password was set and it hadn't been before. What should that setting be? other post -->> Though these instructions are for Yahoo Verizon (which mine is not), the problem was that Encrypted Password had been checked -- I don't know if it always was or if that setting suddenly changed over night, but that solved the issue. Thanks! What should the authentication method be? These are the choices... Encrypted password, Password transmitted insecurely, Kerberos/ GSSAPI, NTLM, or TLS Certificate. What was the setting before the update?

Check with Verizon about the correct server settings. As 'Authentication method' typically 'Normal password' is used.

Wrt password encryption, you're probably talking about the master password.
