I can't get the security verification code to be accepted on eBay?

On eBay when I try to contact a seller the site requests a 6 digit security verification code. Despite entering the correct code, it's never accepted. EBay help says it's the fault of script in Firefox and that I need to switch to IE. Is this something that is known about and is there any way round it?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
