Your crashreport:
https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-7b283a65-847b-4973-a1ea-f36562111104
Firefox 7.0.1 Crash Report [@ _purecall | nsXPTCStubBase::QueryInterface(nsID const&, void**) ]
This is caused by Trusteer Rapport. Try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.
You can stop Rapport using Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport
You can ask their helpdesk when an updated version of their product will be made available or, if you don't need this software, uninstall it.

Hi!

Many thx. for guidance. How the blazes did Trusteer get here anyway - never heard of it let alone ask for it! Is it associated with something else?

Can't see Uninstall where indicated. On the Start Menu, looking up Programs list indicates 4 Options - Rapport Console, Rapport Support Page, Start Rapport, Stop Rapport. Not seeing any use I want to uninstall properly - ie purge.

Will keep posted

P.

YAY! Stopped and uninstalled Trusteer Rapport now - problem solved! I think I know how I got it now (legit. - a bank/building socy. log-in procedure I think - but not previously realised), but not why it started playing up all of a sudden. May need to reinstall it at some stage - VERY carefully.

Got there in the end! This trouble-shooting procedure could be easier to handle by non-geeks like me - but MANY thanks for all assistance.

Glad the problem was solved. Alice provided links to their site. You may find it worth keeping an eye on the site. You may at some stage need to use it again for your banking, and may need to ensure you get an up-to-date version of Trusteer Rapport. There are a few thread about this on the forum, it is not the first time problems have been noticed with firefox and Trusteer.

There is a possibility other browsers sometimes also have problems /questions/892355#answer-269709

Thank you - I will check that the bank is aware that some problems appear to keep happening with this program. It has caused me GREAT inconvenience for one, though short-lived, and is really not acceptable. It's not only their own security that deserves consideration - and this seems mob-handed. Someone needs to get their act together.

Best wishes.
