Sync actually won't work for this current release. Firefox 28 uses the older sync protocol with a user name, password and pairing key and Firefox 29 uses just a user name and password.

As of late April when Firefox 29 is released you can once again sync between Beta and Release.

Right now, Firefox SYNC is the only option for importing and exporting the bookmark
