I want to disable attachment option for outgoing emails due to some security reason. Or is there any provision like, Emails with any attachment, should be send only when admin authorized it?

Pradeep, I do not see why you would want to force this in a desktop program.

is this something you could manage at your mail server? And what security purpose would it serve?

Please keep in mind that e-mail signatures, inserted images etc. could be treated as an attachment as well. Also, HTML messages contain of a plaintext body and a MIME formatted message which could be seen as an attachment.

Hi Sander, Thanks for you reply. But what i want to do is.. i have multiple systems on which users work. i don't want them to send any of company document which is confidential to us, by email. I have already disable USB's from bios and set the password.

So, do you monitor the content of users' messages? Do you try to stop inline copy-and paste of "sensitive" data?

Maybe you should take away their computers....

There is software available from major vendors that can force policies. It's called DLP (Data Loss Prevention).

Pradeep, could you please mark your question as solved when done? Thank you.
