html not working on youtube
I've been using HTML to view YouTube videos for quite a while now with rarely an instance where it wouldn't work. As of today I was unable to view any YouTube videos. I keep getting I need Adobe Flash Player so, reluctantly, I enabled Flash and everything has been working except for the occasional instance that FP has stopped working. So I don't know if this a FP, FF, and/or YouTube problem. I checked the YouTube settings and HTML is enabled. So could someone please enlighten me as to what is going on. Also what is this Open H264 extension I just saw with FF 33 update? Thank you in advance for your comments.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
The current Firefox 33 release has support for canPlayType to make it possible to check if you can play a specific media format. If this check fails then the website can fallback to another player and in most cases this will be Flash based.
Thanks for the replies. I'm still don't understand why the youtube videos no longer play in HTML. When I view the same video in Chrome it plays them in HTML. Something changed in FF 33. Being I said all this FP 15 crashed and I had to reinstall FP. I disabled video acceleration in both FP and FF with no effect. I'm in a position where I either have to deactivate FP or start using Chrome which doesn't have any problems. I've attached a snapshot of the youtube/html5 for review. Even when I change the default to HTML is still doesn't work. I started FF in safe mode and that didn't make any difference. So, at this point, I don't know if FF caused this problem or FP is causing this problem. I look forward to anyone's comments. Thanks
