The outdated Flash message itself with 16.0.0.296 has nothing to do with Fx 35.0.1 or any Firefox version though.

If so, 1) Why does the problem not occur with Firefox 35.0? 2) Why does Adobe show 16.0.0.296 as the latest version? 3) Why doesn't the problem occurs with other browsers?

I think that to say that I am "precluded" is over the top. Shockwave flash works well- the issue is getting false messages from FF plugins check page. This has happened before with other plugins, adding to an increasing list of minor problems with FF.

Mozilla needs to get a grip to avoid so many "iritations" and deal with any that do arise quickly, inform users who raise the issue that it is a FF problem, that they are dealing with instead of allowing well meaning contributors to suggest irrelevant solutions etc.

The outdated message was not false per say, just that Adobe did not have the panned update ready just yet.

Other browsers have a different ways of updating The Flash player plugin they use and are a different version of plugin say Peeper and ActiveX so not quite the same.

Now I've installed version 16.0.0.305 but the plugin check is showing that I have the previous version and need to update.
