I also understand that while trying to download a particular file, that Loader droid and Firefox downloaded the same file at the same time. I believe I may have a resolution to your problem. Tap the box across “Show advanced preferences” to check it and gain access to additional settings. This allows you to customize functionality of Loader Droid even further by giving you access to controls for core features. Tap on "Total Number of Connections" to ensure you don't have too many connections. Also make sure to go to "Show Advanced Preferences" and make sure that the "Limit number of Simultaneous downloads" is checked.
