Hello,

I was using two different devices until now, with a lot of bookmarks, tabs, history etc on both devices. And now I want to get rid of my old computer and move everything to my other newer pc. I was searching about how to move my bookmarks and I saw this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them

It says:

Caution: Restoring bookmarks from a backup will overwrite your current set of bookmarks with the ones in the backup file.

I have three options I guess, one with Firefox Sync, one with backing up then restoring and one with exporting to HTML documentr and then importing from there?

My question is: If I create a new Firefox Sync account on the old computer and with this way store all bookmarks to Sync account, then I log in with that same Snyc account on the newer computer, does it overwrite my current bookmarks on the new computer or does it merge them?

Thank you.

These instructions will combine the new bookmarks with the old.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.
