How do I quick filter to see all "not junk" messages?

I want to see just the messages in my Inbox that have not been auto-marked as junk. Is there a quick filter toolbar setting for that?

Also, how long does it take for messages auto-marked as junk to move to the Junk folder? If they had moved out already, I wouldn't need to be filtering them out of my view!

Whilst it isn't specifically a "not junk" filter, the QuickFilter has a "Sender is in my address book" option. That should do a good job of showing you only legitimate email.

If I had junk mail getting in my way, I think I'd want to move it or delete it. So…

If Thunderbird is set appropriately, if you manually re-mark the junk mail as junk it should move off into the Junk folder. So that would get it out of the way.

An easy way to herd all the junk together is to set Thunderbird to show the Junk column. Then you can click on the Junk icon at the top of that column, which will cause all your messages to sort by their junk status, and so all the Junk messages will cluster together. See the attached picture to see an example of sorting, which is being done by subject in my picture. Then you can select the first by clicking on it, move to the last junk message and click on it while holding down shift. That will select from the first junk message through to to the last junk message, so then re-marking them as Junk should see them off. Pressing the j key will do this. Or you could just hit the del key.

If you're OK with just deleting your Junk, that is, you feel you can trust the Junk filtering, you could instead go to Tools|Delete Mail Marked As Junk In Folder. No need to select or re-order anything.
