I installed Quantum and google is my default search engine. When I type in something to search for the site goes to :

https://www.google.co.in

I'm in the US and don't see anything in the about config that points to this..

Probably a rhetorical question, but have you checked the right box under 'Region Settings' and then clicked 'Save'  ?

Such problems are sometimes caused by the webpage thinking you are somewhere other than where you are.

What is your location? What is your ISP?

What do these websites say about your location?

http://whatismyipaddress.com/ Under the map, look for Location Not Accurate?

Hi Fred. I'm going thru our corporate network which leaves to the Internet from California. the whatismyip.com matches the geolocation...that appears to be fine. I work for a very large company and we all go out from that location. I'm not sure what ISP is in play here, I'm assuming its one of the large US ones.

My guess is that an India localized version of Firefox might have been installed. I believe that the localized version of each default search engine comes with each localized version.

Try installing this search plugin and see if that solves that issue. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-default-1/

Then make that search engine your default search engine in Options > Search .

I got this right from Mozilla. Even in my applications, it says (x64 en-US). I tried that addon as well but still goes to India site.
