I can access the free online site but the movies just won't load and play. I receive no error messages. One site is 123movies.to and another is vexmovies.org. I can access these sites and play the movies if I use Google Chrome.

The two sites are using a JW Player which is HTML5. Btw they are not legally free ;)

You are using Windows XP which does not have the needed codecs to fully using HTML5 Player as Microsoft provides to Windows Vista and later.

You can see you limits at say https://www.youtube.com/html5/ and the test videos on say https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html

You may be able to get some HTML5 videos to work with some workarounds. https://msfn.org/board/topic/175591-enable-mp4-h264-aac-html5-video-in-firefox-on-windows-xp-without-flash/

The Chrome version you have is old and vulnerable as Google dropped support of WinXP/Vista back in April 2016. The reason why HTML5 player may work is because they kind of cheat by having Chrome with their own codecs.

James, I appreciate your speedy response, but can you tell me why before I did the upgrade I could watch the movies using firefox on those sites?

Thanks Doyle

I think for that question you need to ask the site you were watching the move from. Just like Jame said Btw they are not legally free ;). So any questions your asking about 123 is getting into legalities-that I doubt anyone on here wants to get into.
