You need to close all windows at same time. If you close a window with pined tabs an use another. The latest window is disappearing.

I don't know if is a bug or that was made to work.

Pinned tabs are window specific, so you lose the pinned tabs if you close the window with these tabs before you close Firefox via "File -> Exit/Quit". If you use the close X then you would have to close the window with the pinned tabs as the last window. You can check "History -> Restore Previous Session" and "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" to see if you can reopen that window.

Pinned tabs are pinned for a reason. You should not lose a pinned tab if you open a new window and don't close the pinned tab window last.

If it's not a feature, the ability to set pinned tabs as a 'home' would be best, as having to repin tabs because you keep you work window and school windows separate is a little redundant.

Each window you open can have its own set of pinned tabs, so you need to use the Exit/Quit menu item to close Firefox and not the close X on the title/menu/tab bar. The menu item closes all windows at the same time and ensures that you do not lose a window with pinned tabs in case other windows are opened unnoticed in the background.

Since 1988 I have been using the X in upper right to close everything, but Mozilla has made it so it does not work as expected. 1988 was an exaggeration, it was when Windows first came out. '92 or something. But this seems like a lot of burden to put on the user. Only FF cannot safely be closed using the "X".

Using the close X to close a window has never worked properly since it has been possible to restore a session. Pinned tabs are available for quite some time now and you can only keep them if Firefox is closed properly or at least the last window you close is the window with the pinned tabs.

I have 3 rows of pinned sites, 2 rows of them work related that I have logged into and pinned for a reason; so I can access the sites I need quickly and easily. I thought that was the point of these pinned tabs. My computer runs occasionally work updates and I need to reboot and each time all my pinned sites are gone. I need to re-pin and re-sign into each site again, wasting my time and causing aggravation. I've never closed any browser by going to "File" - "Close Window". I've always just "Xed" out of the program. So the only way to keep all my pinned sites is to now formally close out of Firefox via the File-Close Window process?? I'll do it if it will keep all my pinned sites, but these seems very counter intuitive on what users expect.
