It used to be I could just copy my profile from my Windows partition to my Linux partition and update profiles.ini however now that Thunderbird seems to be releasing versions faster on Linux than on Windows my Windows profile it seems I have to add all of the email addresses manually again to Thunderbird. Is there any easy way to just drag and drop the profile like we used to?

my Windows profile it seems I have to add all of the email addresses manually again to Thunderbird.

You'd need to be more specific about what that means, what you're doing, and what happens.

AFAIK Thunderbird Windows and Linux versions are released simultaneously.

In Linux I copy the file from the Windows partition and drag it to .thunderbird/ I then modify the profiles.ini file to know about the new profile I copied over. I then start thunderbird with the ProfileManager Option, when I choose the profile I copied over I get the attached image.

With Thunderbird 68, in the command line in the Thunderbird program directory, start with

thunderbird.exe -P --allow-downgrade

I followed the directions at https://fosswire.com/post/2008/03/migrate-your-thunderbird-emails-from-windows-to-linux/ to move my Thunderbird data to Linux, but it doesn't work. Those directions state to edit the profiles.ini file with the default file, but there are three listed in Windows. Can anyone help?
