Can I safely delete an 8-month-old "Old Firefox Data" file folder on my desktop?
It's on my desktop and dated 14 June 2019. I've never paid it any mind, but I'd like to resolve the matter. Do I or do I not need it? I use Firefox EXCLUSIVELY linked with StartPage. I don't think a day has gone by that I have not used Firefox for HOURS every day since the creation of the file folder. A screenshot is too large to attach. The folder contains 651 files, 125 folders, 118MB, and is located on C:\Users\Hochstapler\Desktop. I don't know what's in it or how to find out what's in it. I'd appreciate some sound advice. I'll answer questions as quickly as possible. Thanks.

If the files in the folder are not updating -- for example, look at places.sqlite, the file that stores history, to confirm that it hasn't updated since last June -- then it is purely historical at this point. If you are not interested in files from that era, you can delete them.

jsher2000: Thanks for the guidance. Best wishes. /Matt
when you use the refresh feature in Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks and history, Form Data, tabs) is automatically imported. The current Firefox profile folder will be moved to an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.
