When loading certain websites, the images load correctly, but the text is scrambled (see attached image). About 1/3 of the sites I visited today were scrambled, others loaded fine. This just started to happen last week. I tried downloading and installing a new copy of Firefox but it did not fix the problem. I cleared the cache but no luck. This is on an iMac operating on IOS 10.9.5. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Looks like a problem with the Open Sans font. We have seen more reports that mention issues with this font.

Do you have this font installed on your computer ?

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

Make sure you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the OS settings.

I followed your instructions and under the "Advanced" button, the "Allow Web Sites to Choose Their Own" was already checked. So that did not resolve the issue.

The link to the website that is scrambled (image attached) is:

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/?lang=eng

Another scrambled website is:

https://www.bcbstx.com/

Thanks.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem,

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in Troubleshoot(Safe) mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

I followed your instructions and none of the "fixes" worked. The fonts on the landing page are still not rendering correctly for the churchofjesuschrist.org and bcbstx.com sites. If I click on a link on the church site and go to a second level page, the page renders correctly. However, if I click on a link on the Blue Cross site the second level page do not render correctly (same problem as landing page). I can go to other websites, even those that are secure (https://) and they render correctly. So far, it's just the two that I mention that do not render correctly.

I cleared the cookies, cache and data for all sites; however, when I went into some of the sites (not the ones with the rendering problem), my user name and passwords were remembered. It seems like that Firefox utility is not clearing the data. Is there another way to clear the cookies, cache and site data other than using the Firefox utility?

Same issue here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1345673 Affects not only Open Sans, but InterVariable as well (maybe some more, I'll report if I see others)

Are all affected users on an older MacOS version that only supports Firefox 78 ESR ?
