Hi

Usually when I like an article and don't have time to read it, I'll save it for later to read it on my Kindle as plain text.

In FireFox, I'll use the F9 key to Toggle The Reader View to view it in the reader mode, then save the page as text by doing ctrl+s, as I don't need the html version or the images or extra stuff that comes with the article.

However, after the page is saved as text, getpocket.com dumps a lot of unnecessary garbage into the beginning(27 lines) & end(18 lines) of the page, even if I don't have a pocket account nor logged in as listed below.

Is there a way to prevent FF from saving the annoying Pocket self-promo garbage besides saving each page manually and tediously?

Thanks

Hello! You can try disabling Pocket: Open a New Tab>Type about:config in the URL bar and enter>Click Accept the Risk and Continue> Type in extensions.pocket.enabled and Double-click it to disable it

Thanks elison but that did NOT work :(

I changed extensions.pocket.enabled to false, restarted FireFox and double checked to make sure it's still set to false, tried to save another page in Reader View; the pocket icon has disappeared from the popup menu to the left of the page, however, the extra garbage by getpocket.com is still trashed all over the page.

I tried Microsoft Edge which also offers Reader View but it doesn't allow saving as text. Chrome doesn't even bother to offer such a feature! I guess I have to do it manually by switching to RV, ctlr+a, and the good old copy and paste if I want to do it the right way :)

Thanks for your suggestions regardless.
