Passwords won't auto-fill
My passwords won't auto-fill. The selection for "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" is unchecked every time I restart Firefox.
I've tried everything. Re-installing, refreshing, removed all of my plug-ins, etc. I'm not in private mode either.
This is really disappointing. I don't want to switch to another browser.

You can't have multiple Password Managers enabled at the same time. If you have others like RoboForm or Trend Micro Password Manager then the builtin Firefox Password Manager will be disabled.
If you have the "Trend Micro Password Manager" installed then uncheck the Password Protection box in its configuration or uninstall this application via the Windows Control Panel.
You can open the about:policies page to see if policies are active and if errors are reported.
Hi all,
I don't have another password manager. I removed all plugins and it's still not working. Even when I make the "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" selection, it's unchecked every time I restart.
Thanks
Hello,
I'm bumping this because I'm still having this issue.
The "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" option does not stay selected. Firefox is not prompting me to save/use passwords. Every time I open Firefox, the "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites" is not selected in the control panel.
I do not have Trend Micro password manager running. I only have uBlock Origin and Malwarebytes as extensions.
No other web browser that I've tried has this problem. I really don't want to switch to Brave or Edge but I'm getting fed up with Mozilla.
I really would appreciate some assistance.
Thanks, Joe
I've tried everything in that link and I'm still having this problem.
Note that you should be able to use "Use Saved Login/Password" in the right-click context menu.
You can open the about:policies page to see if policies are active and if errors are reported.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
If the new profile works, you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
I pulled my profile folder on to my desktop and now I can't even get Firefox to run.
I get the error message "Your firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible".
It would be nice if someone from support could message me or call me to walk through this.
Why would pull the profile folder to the desktop? You will have to place it back or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.
