Multiple accounts
I have 4 accounts with different names but all with the same domain name (name1@samedomain.com, name2@samedomain.com ...). The first one set up perfectly and works. The 2nd and the 3rd can't retrieve mail from the server (didn't try the 4th yet). The SSL ports are the same for all. The passwords happen to be the same for all. (I haven't tried changing the 2nd and 3rd passwords as that seems unlikely to be the problem.) When initially setting up the 2nd or the 3rd I get a "Sending of password for user name2@samedomain.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.yyy.zzz responded: [AUTH Authentification failed." I've checked the passwords on both the client and the server ends multiple times and they are the same. Then, of course, periodically I get a pop-up with "Login to server pop.xxx.yyy with username name2@samedomain.com failed. When I go to the Account Settings screen with the 3 accounts and click on each Server Settings one after another, the only thing that changes is the User Name, yet the first account receives mail and the other 2 don't so everything is correctly set up. As an aside, I CAN SEND emails from the 2nd and 3rd accounts but can only RECEIVE and SEND from the 1st. Any help appreciated.

I figured it out. For my particular case, I had to enable "Third Party Access" on my email server. I have no idea why it acted the way it did with it turned off i.e., why 1 account and only 1 account worked with it off, or how turning Third Party Access on made all 4 accounts worked. This situation was obviously particular to my email server, Titan. Seems like an obscure issue but maybe, just maybe it helps someone else.

Quick follow-up: CAPS and NUM LOCK are not an issue.
Another follow-up: Changed password for 2nd account. No help. Still failed to retrieve mail.

I had almost the same problem, but I had problems to send instead of receive. It was solved by changing the local folder settings in the server settings for one (or both) of the accounts. The local folders are named after the imap server, thus all accounts with the same imap server has to share the same folder, which apparently doesn't work. When I created separate folders for the accounts, it worked!
