After I launch your program with MSN as my home page, I then click on hotmail to open up my emails. When I complete the log-in, a new Firefox session opens for my emails and not a new tab like it has done in the past. This has been happening for the past two to three months. Check the Tab preferences and settings and make sure the setting "Open new windows in a new tab instead" has been selected.

There are also quite a few tabbed browsing add-ons that give you greater control over tabbed browsing, and can force all new windows to open in a tab. Some examples are:
