When I launch FF6 it keeps checking for updates to addons then I get a page that comes up and says Firefox is Uptodate. Yes it is so why does it keep checking? I disabled all addons and it still happens; I did this manually and with Restart Firefox with all addons disabled option under Help. I also reinstalled it and still getting this. Its more of an annoyance than a functional issue but still should not be happening. Any fix for this?

Try to delete compatibility.ini in the Firefox Profile Folder. That should initiate compatibility, but hopefully it won't return a next time.

If that doesn't work then try a new profile.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
