The bookmarks tab on my ATT/Yahoo home page does not work properly on Firefox. The tab is there, but it is empty, even though I have about a dozen bookmarks in it. Up until about a week or two ago, they showed up, but are not there now. The "manage" function of bookmarks only takes me to an empty page.

They show up when I open ATT/Yahoo home page in Internet Explorer, and I spoke to tech support at ATT and they say it's a Firefox problem. This is not a problem with Firefox bookmarks, which work perfectly, but with the bookmarks embedded into the ATT/Yahoo home page. The other tabs, which are all RSS feeds, work fine.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, but it did not help. I should point out that this problem is not consistent---about 20% of the time, the bookmarks show up.

If you have the Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar extension then try to update to the 1.3.6 version on the versions page.

No, the problem is not with Firefox bookmarks, but with the bookmarks tab embedded into the ATT/Yahoo home page.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Did you check for extensions that can block content?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have done all the tasks Cor-El suggested. The problem remains, albeit intermittently---probably about half the time, the bookmarks tab is filled with my bookmarked sites; and about half the time, it comes up empty. For example, if I refresh the page, the bookmarks might disappear or reappear. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.

I followed the same advice, but I NEVER get my bookmarks now.

Where are they stored?

Have you fixed the problem yet? On my yahoo toolbar, I cann't save anything to yahoo bookmarks. It seems to have stopped about a month ago.

The problem went away on its own as mysteriously as it appeared, several weeks after I posted this. The mysteries of the internet!

I do not remember what I did, but I can now save sites to my Yahoo bookmarks. Thanks for your reply. Hope we both don't need this site anymore. Thanks
