Lost all my bookmarks-tried everything the website suggests. Now I have a bookmark list but some are "empty" & the others connect to the wrong website. Help!

All my bookmarks disappeared after a Firefox update. I tried every suggestion under "troubleshooting" to no avail. Now, I have my list of bookmarks back but some of them show (Empty) when I hover over them and the rest of them connect to the wrong website. I am at a loss as to what to do next.

Did the bookmark backups all disappear as well? Perhaps it is just places.sqlite that got corrupted? If you still have the bookmark backups, try removing places.sqlite from the profile and the most recent bookmark backup as well.

Hi, Thank you for responding. I did see that as a possible solution earlier and I did remove the places.sqlite. Still have the problem. Not sure about the backups. I tried another solution earlier under "troubleshooting" that involved backups but I kept getting a message that said "unable to access" or something like that. I don't remember the exact wording. I'm so frustrated. Any other suggestions? I do family tree research and my bookmarks are invaluable. Why would a Firefox update do something like this? I am also frustrated with Firefox itself because you can't contact anyone directly for help.
