I cannot see the pictures using Firefox ( my normal browser) but can on Internet Explorer. Other forum users with Firefox have no problem seeing the pictures. I also cannot see pictures on Photobucket using the link http://s1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa351/acogman/Adverts/ from that forum.

What is wrong and how do I correct it as I do not want to use IE?

Hi!

I understand that you can see the images with other browsers.

I tried myself and they will not load in the first place, but I disabled Ad Block Plus from that site and it worked smoothly. So make sure that none of your add-ons are blocking the content in that page.

You should have the options to do that in the Tools section of the Firefox Menu.

Let me know if that helps.

Best, Ibai

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.

There are also extensions like Adblock Plus (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

You were spot on Ibai. I disabled Ad Block Plus and it worked perfectly and also the pictures appeared in the Photobucket link from that thread.

Thank you very much. I can now let other users of that site, with the same problem, know the cure.

Thanks for your very prompt reply.
