Print selection prints lots of blank pages and the selected text

I select text and hit print and the selected text prints but so does 20 other "almost" blank pages, once the header and footer print on these "Blank" pages there useless to use over

Firefox has a strange behavior of keeping a selection in its actual physical position in a page (and blanking the rest of the page) rather than pulling the selection to the top left and printing just that. I posted a couple workarounds in this thread: Firefox 17 on Windows 7 prints blank pages after printing selection.

This has been going on for so long it's ridiculous. I can't understand why an obvious problem like this can't be fixed. Sick and tired of wasting so much paper and killing so many trees because of sloppy coding.
