I would like to keep firefox in my same profile but it has corrupt files caused by an ad jacker and now won't start. How do I remove these corrupt files so I can keep my same profile. I used spyhunter and removed the problem so now I have corrupt files. works in another profile, but I don't want that. Can someone help. I'm tech savvy, so I can do, just point me to where these files might be. If I restore. the virus comes back which leads me to ads when I click websites. Can anyone help. thanks. Using chrome now but all my bookmarks are in firefox and I don't want to move them.

Do you mean a different Windows user profile, or a different Firefox profile?

Either way, you can migrate bookmarks to a new Firefox profile using the restore feature as described in this article: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer. The trick is locating your last good JSON backup, in a folder named bookmarkbackups. Because Windows hides some folders from you by default, make sure your search including hidden files and folders.

You also can migrate some other data if you like. This article is a starting point, but please feel free to post back with additional questions: Recovering important data from an old profile.

Last but not least (or maybe even first), you may want to run some supplemental scans. These three tools are highly regarded (and free):
